Set up UniAccount and InformatikAccount

UniAccount

Without UniAccount you cannot use many important services (e.g. UniMail, LSF, BOSS, WLAN, VPN, library).

Since the registration for lectures has been done via the LSF since the Corona pandemic, it is important to activate the UniAccount in time.

How can I activate the UniAccount?

Important information about the activation of the UniAccount can be found under this link. Unfortunately, the Department of Computer Science cannot support you in this process.

Who can I contact if I have problems with the UniAccount?

InformatikAccount

The InformatikAccount includes a mail account and a pool account.

  • With the mail account you can use your personal mailbox on the central mail server of the department. Furthermore, the mail account gives you access to various other services (e.g. VPN, ....).
  • With the pool account you can use all computers in the pool of the Department of Computer Science. This usage is necessary for some exercises or internships.

How do I get the mail account and pool account of the Department of Computer Science?

You can reserve the InformatikAccount on the website of the Informatikrechner-Betriebsgruppe.

Click on "Reservation and activation" and read the information carefully.

  1. Reservation When making a reservation, you must provide your first and last name, as well as your matriculation number. It is important that these data match the data on your university card, or the data given when you enrolled. Choose whether you are studying Computer Science as a major (i.e. enrolled in the Bachelor's program in Computer Science, the Bachelor's program in Applied Computer Science, the Master's program in Computer Science, the Master's program in Applied Computer Science, a teaching bachelor's program with Computer Science as a major, or a teaching master's program with Computer Science as a minor (i.e. enrolled in another program).
  2. Activation For students majoring in Computer Science, an email with an activation link will be sent to the UniMail address, see UniAccount above. Students with a minor or complementary subject in Computer Science normally need a written confirmation from the course instructor, which they present at Operating.
