Choice of minor or application subject

For students in their first semester, the most important information is very simple: if you are not interested in the minor subject ofElectrical Engineering or Mathematics in the Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science or the application subject of Enterprise Computing in the Bachelor's degree program in Applied Computer Science, you do not need to worry about your choice in your first semester.

You choose the minor subject in the Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science or the application subject in the Bachelor's degree program in Applied Computer Science when you register for the first graded examination in the minor or application subject. Most minor and applied subjects are usually chosen in the third semester. As a first semester student, you therefore do not need to worry at this stage unless you are interested in the minor subject Mathematics, the minor subject Electrical Engineering or the application subject Enterprise Computing.

If you are interested in the minor subject Mathematics, the minor subject Electrical Engineering or the application subject Enterprise Computing, you must make your decision now. If you choose Mathematics as a minor subject, the modules "Mathematics for Computer Science 1" (winter semester) and "Mathematics for Computer Science 2" (summer semester) are not required. If you choose Electrical Engineering as a minor subject, the module "Electrical Engineering and Communication Technology" (summer semester) is omitted. If you choose the application subject Enterprise Computing, you will hear "Mathematics for Computer Science" instead of "Advanced Mathematics".
